INFLUENCER~BUILDING~UNLIMITED My 3 Words for 2013

January 6th, 2013 by CASUDI (Caroline Di Diego)

INFLUENCER because this is the “buzz think” with big companies, who have megadata to identify and find their influencers. It’s going to be “the year of the influencer”, not only for big companies, small companies and small biz, but even for individuals, including me!

Influencer because this is how I have implemented marketing for many years; identifying and networking with my influencers who introduce and recommend me to my clients!

In 2013 I am going to turn the tables, and I am going to be the influencer!  I will BUILD the small, nearly invisible non-profit which I co-founded, Bank-On-Rain, into a serious influencer.

Last month I began laying the foundation for this, and asked Betsy Kent @bevisible of Be Visible Associates  to help me on my influence journey. I met Betsy at #SOBcon Portland last September, and this is going to be one of the most exciting collaborations I have ever engaged in, and it’s already started!

Imagine solving the problem of clean drinking water with an available resource, as available as Rain?

INFLUENCE-RIPPLES

BUILDING because after you make the connections, and I’ve made many online, you BUILD the relationships. This is the year to BUILD on the connections I’ve already made. It’s also the year for BUILDING the success of several Start Up companies I mentor.

I’ve gone deeper into BUILDING as part of a guest post I wrote recently for the Distillery project.  If I could distill everything about my life into one meaningful word it would be BUILDING. In a nutshell, I BUILD in many different disciplines and dimensions, including designing and building houses!

As many of you know I am passionate about BUILDING bridges between people and on top of that I love bridges for their ability to connect; people, places, ideas….!

UNLIMITED means looking beyond what can be seen, or is generally accepted. It is deleting boundaries where they exist, and doing the impossible.

This is the year of opening up the horizon; and If you’re up for it, please join me on the ride!

At the beginning of 2012, I kicked off the year with 3 words that would define it: story, restoration, and compassion. Let's see how things turned out for the year. Story worked out as planned. A number of folks commented throughout the year that the work I did on my storytelling paid off, especially in…

    1. Nick Kellet Says:

So true on Influence. We can be influential in small ponds or large ones. Influencers open doors and close them.

Understanding influence in so important today, I think few really do.

Being influential is hard work. It takes time and effort and consistency

You are always building on what’s gone before.

And there should be no limits.

      Great three words.

    2. Brian Driggs Says:

Thanks for mentioning (and participating in) the Distillery Project, Casudi!

You also reminded me that I should look back and reflect on my own three words from 2012. How well did I stick with them? Then I need to think about three new(?) words for 2013?

I love the thought of opening up the horizon. Like Nick said, there should be no limits. Someone once said, “The person who says it is impossible should never interrupt the person doing it anyway.” And, one of my favorite thoughts ever, courtesy Gandhi, “First they ignore you, then they mock you, then they fight you, then you win.”

Some people stack bricks. Some people build cathedrals. You’re clearly the latter. ;)

    3. Stéphanie Montreuil (@Steph_Montreuil) Says:

I love your three words! Your first two mirror my first two a little. Unlimited is a great one too – it is so easy for us to put limitations on what we think we can accomplish.

LOVE Patrick’s picture of the bridge and your sailing photo :)

    4. Michelle Gann, Change Your Bathroom, Inc. Says:

      I love this concept.

My words are Live & Be Happy.
